Torrential rain and a gorse bush

I spent the weekend in Galway with a mate. We (well I did) decided to go see some cultural things on Sunday so after breakfast we went to Salthill.  We parked near to the aquarium and decided to walk back towards the claddagh direction. Big mistake.  Halfway there the heavens opened. The only bush we could get shelter was a gorse bush.  I have never been so wet in all my life even after going for a swim!! It was back to the B&B and showers and a change of clothes. We ventured out again later that day and the following are a bunch of photos I took. I went a bit mad in lightroom and changed white balance in a lot of them and tones and desaturated etc. My favourite one of the day is the signet.

Oh and my friend used her newest chat up line “Smell me arm” on a fella from Navan with an unsuccessful result.

Sausages

Today I mostly ate sausages. Had an aussie mate staying in mine. She had never sampled the delights of Superquinn sausages or Superquinn bread. Basically, she hadn’t lived. So me being the hostess with the mostess I picked up some Superquinn provisions (sausages, bread and wine) on Friday on the way home from work.  We had the most fab breakfast on Saturday morning.  We got the dart to Bray and did the cliff walk to Greystones. It’s a lovely walk and we had a lovely day weather wise. Parts of the walk are closed due to land falling into the sea. The fences to stop people are broken and nobody pays any heed to the the danger signs. There is only one dodgy part. Dart home from Greystones followed by some healthy chips and a battered sausage from Leo Burdocks. Naaaiiice.

Oh and got a text during the day from a good friend asking me to shoot his wedding. Normally I would say no and run away and hide but having talked it through with him I am going to do it.  He does weddings himself so he knows what he wants and he wants me. I am delighted to have been asked.

Deer oh Deer

I headed over to the Phoenix park on Saturday. It was a fairly overcast day. The deer were in front of the cross with a small group of them quite near the road. There were two other fellas there with L glass taking photos (didn’t recognise them as boardsies). I took some shots of the smaller group of deer and moved over toward the large group (150+) of them. I was there for a while taking a few shots. There was a family close by and a couple the other side of me. Out of nowhere this big dog came running toward the deer. The deer began panicing and running everywhich way. I was so scared. A few of the stags actually ran in between myself and the couple to my left. Thankfully the dog ran back to it’s owner and the deer settled down and I lived happily ever after.
