We left from Queenstown on a bus that has a glass roof and the seats are slated towards the window. It is the coolest bus ever. The weather was fab. I had to pinch myself as the weather has caused more things to be cancelled on me in the country that I would have liked. Our destination was Doubtful sounds. We had a three hour bus ride and then a 1 hour boat ride over lake Manapouri to get to another bus transfer to get to Doubtful. Des Lynam was on our boat and so was the biggest bee in the world. Des my hero caught the bee in his hand and let it free out the top part of the boat.

We boarded our boat (Fiordland Navigator) for our overnight cruise after getting off the second coach. Our cabins were fab, the weather was fab, we saw seals and dolphins. The meal was an all you can eat buffet. Baz i did you proud. I went up for second helpings and I had two deserts. I nearly had to be rolled off the boat the next day. I managed to get myself up for sunset the following morning and it was spectacular. The Fiords are relatively untouched beacause they are a national park. It is covered in dense rainforest. It’s very very remote at doubtful and at one point this morning the switched off all power on the boat in a secluded cove and we stood for five minutes and listened to the sound of silence. It was something else. We’re off to Milford Sounds tomorrow on a one day trip ![]()
